Lunar New Year/Mardi Gras Celebration
Something truly special is happening

This year, Lunar New Year and Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) fall on the same day. This alignment is rare because Lunar New Year follows the lunar calendar while Mardi Gras follows the Christian liturgical calendar based on Easter. This overlap doesn’t happen often, which makes today feel even more symbolic with a convergence of cultures, cycles, and celebration.
We are officially transitioning out of the Snake energy of 2025, a year of shedding, reflection, quiet strategy, and inner transformation. The skin has been shed. What no longer serves us has been revealed.
Now we step boldly into 2026, the Fire Horse year. Fire Horse energy is movement. Courage. Passion. Action. Expansion. It does not tiptoe. It gallops. It asks us to live more fully, speak more truthfully, and step into the light without apology.
And what better way to honor that transition than through celebration?
Mardi Gras, literally “Fat Tuesday”, is traditionally the final day of indulgence before the reflective season of Lent begins. Historically, it was a time to use up rich foods before fasting. In New Orleans, it evolved into parades, music, masks, and beads as symbols of freedom, joy, and community. The colors of Mardi Gras carry meaning:
Purple for justice
Green for faith
Gold for power
Celebration is not excess. It is remembrance. It is joy in community. It is stepping forward with intention. Today’s menu honors both the bold spice of Mardi Gras and the grounded nourishment of a new energetic cycle.
